Body’s ability to sense movement, action and location. Helps us move through space and time without needing to consciously think about what comes next. Present in joints and muscles.
The body scans the environment for cues of safety or danger. Closely connected to the nervous system, influencing adaptive reactions, social behaviour, trust and feelings of safety.
Inner sensing system that helps us know when we are hungry, thirsty or need the toilet. Supports regulation of internal states and helps predict actions of others.
The ability to sense body movement, space, force and gravity. Often linked to learning styles that involve physical movement and activity.
How we take in and respond to the aesthetic environment. How different stimuli are processed and whether they feel pleasurable or overwhelming.
Connected to movement and balance. Supports coordination of eye movements, posture, equilibrium and head movement. High levels of anxiety may be present when this system is disrupted.
