We are launching a pilot support programme in partnership with a local primary school to better support children with Sensory Processing Differences in educational settings.
What the Programme Involves
This structured programme is designed by sensory specialists and brings together children, parents, and school staff to improve understanding and practical support strategies.
It focuses on:
- Helping children develop self-regulation skills
- Supporting teachers and teaching assistants with practical tools
- Involving parents in consistent support approaches
- Identifying effective strategies in real classroom environments
Why This Pilot Matters
Many children struggle in classrooms not because they cannot learn, but because their sensory environment is overwhelming or unsupported.
By working directly within schools, we can understand what actually works in practice and build evidence-based approaches that can be shared more widely.
Creating a Scalable Model
One of the key goals of this pilot is to develop a model that can be expanded into other schools across the region.
We want to create practical, realistic approaches that schools can adopt without requiring major systemic change, just better understanding and targeted support.
This pilot represents an important step towards more inclusive education for neurodiverse children.
